My downfall started at age 8 when I started watching "Creature Features" on Friday nights and became a horror movie fan. Then I read "The Hobbit" at age 10 and became a fantasy genre geek and avid reader. By age 11 I was standing in line to see the first Star Wars film multiple time (what we call "Episode 4" now) and I was a lost cause, hopelessly mired in the knife edge walking, laugh in the face of death world of being a fandom geek.
