James Stanley Daugherty

James Stanley Daugherty has been photographing for over thirty five years and still finds the camera to be one of the most magical tools ever invented. Although classically trained at the Academy of Art College of San Francisco, he feels that the only way to improve your craft is master the technical tools, keep shooting, never be afraid to change directions, and to always take time to play. He also has a Masters Degree in Anthropology from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and is setting up his own archaeology dig in Mexico. He is deeply attracted to spiritual nudes, ancient temples, and palm trees. He balances his time between Maui, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and the Yucatan, four places where imagination and history have become so intermingled, that no one can tell where fantasy begins and reality ends. This is life as it should be.
